I want to join the 'crafty people' (is that like the 'beautiful people'? lol) but I am ohhh so NOT talented! I am a Libra - I'm so supposed to have a love for the arts, right? Well, I guess I have a love for them, just not the skill!
A while back I posted about how Olivia made me a necklace for Mother's Day - it is beautiful, of course I still have it!
She has been asking me to make jewelry with her lately. Jeff used to do this stuff with her, but he's been busy and so I guess it's my turn. I found a great site about cleaning jewelry and all sorts of jewelry ideas, and of course DIY jewelry tutorials!
Do you make jewelry? Let's network!
My friend owns an online jewelry boutique and I want to pass on her latest promotion:
Also, Lauren Klein Jewelry is donating 10% of all sales in the month of October to breast cancer research in support of the 25th breast cancer awareness month.
A friend of mine owns an online jewelry store. The items she sells are high end and definitely of excellent quality, however, I tend to buy most of my jewelry at local Pagan stores or online Pagan stores because I really love Moons, Pentacles and Goddesses.
I checked out her site today because I know she has something awesome planned sale wise for Black Friday/Cyber Monday and I found this diamond moon charm necklace:
I am in love with this and the sale price is too good to be true. I'm mentioning this to you all because with the holidays coming up, I know everyone is looking for great gift ideas and awesome deals. Since she is my friend, I have no shame in promoting her site -- which is Lauren Klein Jewelry (http://www.laurenklein.com)
If you're looking to give jewelry as a gift, I highly recommend her site, which has women's jewelry, baby jewelry, and personalized jewelry as well. Here is the current promotion for the weekend:
Receive 15% off with coupon code 15off and FREE shipping for your Black Friday-Cyber Monday shopping. Just one purchase gives you a chance to win this 1/10 Carat 14K Yellow Gold Diamond Circle Necklace!
Offer expires Mon. 11/29 at midnight, so it's only for the weekend. Now you all know I don't go promoting things unless I have personal experience with whatever I mention. Definitely check this out.

All this talk of crafty Pagans made me realize I never posted pictures of the necklace my daughter made me for Mother's Day! My ex-husband, Jeff (her father) helped her make this necklace but they didn't have a chain or chord to put the charm on. I guess that's why I forgot to mention it, as I was unable to wear it.
She finally remembered to remind Jeff about this so I now have a chord for it and I LOVE wearing it!
I love all kinds of gemstones and if I wear any, I usually try to choose the one that suits what I need at the time. So, yea, I am usually wearing hematite, hahahaha. When it comes to necklaces though, I most often go with my birthstone, which is Sapphire.
I came across these gemstone necklaces and I thought about one for myself and one for Olivia - her birthday is today. She is SIX! She loves Princess stuff and I saw this:
Ultimately, I decided she probably needs to be a bit older before I buy her something like this. I suppose I am afraid she'll loose it. How old is old enough for nice jewelry?
I know many of my readers are pretty crafty! Many do beautiful bead work. If you do, or if you're thinking of trying it, have you ever heard of Beads of Cambay? They have beautiful wholesale beads available. In fact, they are one of the top wholesale bead suppliers. They offer discounts of up to 30% on a wide range of “high quality” gemstone beads and freshwater pearls.
I am starting to get a bit creative lately - I mean, heck I made a really pretty Mabon wreath! Making my own jewelry is something I am actually considering. My biggest problem was knowing where to find wholesale gemstone beads for this little business venture I am considering. This is all new to me so I pretty much just scan the internet for deals. Then I found Beads of Cambay and I must say, I am impressed with all the different gemstones they have.
I just may give this a go, start out small and see what comes of it. If anything I will be making my own jewelry and what a better way to get exactly what you want than to do it yourself!
Updated Edit:
No way in hell will I buy from this company - nice beads or not! Here Is why
