Mercury in Retrograde for 2012

Posted in ,

As many of you know, about three times every year for around three weeks at a time, Mercury, the planet of communication turns retrograde. I noticed that when Mercury is retrograde, time feels like it's standing still. I already know it's not a good time to venture into unknown areas or take risks and I always prepare for delays or misunderstandings because well, it's going to happen!

I've been noticing (on Facebook usually, LOL) my friends/family members complaining about how all sorts of things are going wrong, people are fighting with loved ones, cars and computers are breaking down, etc....but I've just been keeping to myself. Things have been slow work wise for me on the freelancing end - I mean heck, I only had one article to complete this week, and it had to do with allergies in austin and where/how to get relief. I don't even live near austin...

All of a sudden, over the last 3-4 days, I have had an explosion of potential clients! I mean, it's HUGE and just what I desperately need! All have proposals or are waiting for proposals from me and I'm thinking, "but wait, Mercury is in retrograde and I know not to make any important changes because they might not materialize. Is the Universe playing a joke on me???!!!"

So I look at my trusty calendar and see the first Mercury retrograde is in March/April 2012 and is supposed to bring major events of challenge, transition and transformation. Then in July/August another Mercury retrograde, creating situations that branch out into many new directions. Finally, the November Mercury retrograde is said to give our goals as aspirations a deeper perspective.

Now I am wondering, should I wait until April 4, 2012 to finalize any work related agreements? Or, are we close enough to the end of the retrograde to start making these decisions?

Getting Ready for Samhain

Posted in ,

I've been scrambling to get work done and out of the way early this week so I don't even have to THINK about it over the weekend so we can celebrate Samhain.

So far I have stuff completed for my freelance writing business and only a few articles to write for another place. I am working on researching Lipofuze, so if anyone knows about it, or has experience with it, let me know--would make my research so much easier!

Starting an Online Store

Posted in

I've been contemplating this for a while now. I'd love to have a little online store to sell some Pagan/Goddess items. I recently found different cyberpowerpc coupons online so I'm thinking of giving that place a chance.

Anyone use it? Anyone have an online store? Pros? Cons? I don't expect to make thousands of dollars a month, just want something on the side.

Listening to Spirit

Next month, CJ will be working from home full time as a freelance writer, like I do. He has officially given notice at his current job--his last day there is October 2nd. I have been working extra hard to get into a routine that will be most productive for me and I am finding out that being up around 5am and getting started on major products until around 7am fits best, so far. I might need to invest in eye cream for wrinkles soon but all in all, it's been good. Hahaha!

This was not an easy decision for us and I spent many days/nights meditating on this and asking for guidance; I kept getting the same answer, so we're going with it. This is not to say we didn't make lists of pros and cons or that we did not sit down and discuss things thoroughly--but the answers we received from Spirit solidified our decision. Now we prepare to travel an unknown road.

Currently, CJ is freelancing part time and earning almost as much as I do--and I do this full time. He is a better writer than I am, I admit it. He is also more efficient than I am. If he was able to freelance full time, he could easily double his monthly income.  Our plan: to make as much money as we possibly can, pay off bills (like the Mustang, the motorcycle, and the Disney property) and save money as well.

Worst case scenario: we fail and he goes back to working out of the home. There is never a 'good' time to make a move like this, not for us anyway.

Laundry Disappearing Spell

Posted in ,

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE my job? Well, I DO! I also adore my clients because they are non-judgmental; I don't have to hide who I am.  I got this picture from my newest client today, along with some text that definitely made me smile!

Laundry denial oh Pagan Goddess cast the spell of "laundry disappear" and I will worship the Cricket Gods tonight so all the wrong doings in the world will be righted!!!

Ahhh--I love my life : ]
