I used to have an entire room devoted to nothing but my altar and all my witchy books. The house I lived in had a spare room which was my 'witchy room' -- I wish I had pictures of that room. It had speakers set up for my meditation music and I had the perfect lighting too.
Now my altar is in my living room. It's not awful but I miss having an entire room dedicated to all my witchy things. I've been looking around this house and I realize I am bad when it comes to decorating, lol. I think part of my problem is I hate clutter and while statues and trinkets are not necessarily 'clutter' I still am not a fan of having all kids of things out. I would love to find some inexpensive cabinets to hang, then I'd have more storage and no noticeable 'clutter'.
Do you have a 'witchy' room?
Okay, who has snow? It's in the forecast for my area. I'm pretty sure IF we see any snow, it will be in the form of snow showers and not actual snow accumulating on the ground. (Or maybe that is my wishful thinking!)
It's not uncommon to get snow this time of year around here, I know, but I think the last time it happened was back in the 1980's! And to think last weekend I was looking into outdoor fountains to put in the yard and now I am wondering where the heck I put the snow shovel! Hahahaaa!
Oh, thank you to everyone who replied to my last post about migraines. I passed on all information to my friend. We'll see what happens now.
Since the weather went for super lovey to super chilly, we have been spending evenings inside. This place needs some spring cleaning so I made it a game. Whomever can clean this room or that room the fastest (properly of course) wins.
Well, these kids are finding all sorts of stuff; jewelry, money, missing toys...I think I need to see if I can find out where to get metal detectors on sale so I can start finding stuff too...yea, I'm so bad at this whole treasure hunt thing. Now I need to figure out where to put the stuff they're finding!
This morning when I took Wyatt to school we got detoured down a road I had never been on, in all the years I have lived in this town! To my surprise, there were several houses for rent on this street and they were nice houses.
I hate owning a home - it's too expensive, too time consuming, too much of a pain in the butt. However, I am currently a homeowner - in a house that needs lots of work. Lately I have been pondering whether it is better to move r simply fix this place up. I have used my Tarot deck for guidance but I got some mixed answers. Sigh. Guess the Universe isn't ready to answer me :(
I never really used Runes. If you have, how do you like the results vs a Tarot deck?
Well, it is certainly past 'spring cleaning' time, according to the calendar anyway, but the weather makes it feel like it's still winter. Our heat kicked on yesterday! I am hoping for warmer temps this weekend so I can finally get this pace scrubbed down and re-organized.
For me, disinfecting furniture, keeping rooms free from mold and allergens, etc.... is very important. So important that I did a bit of research on how to really do these things properly. I found a site that offered extremely useful carpet cleaning tips and not only tips but they offer services as well.
In fact, one aspect that drew me in to read and learn more about this company and their cleaning habits was that they service use the most environmentally responsible chemicals available, while still providing a positive cleaning experience. This is a huge deal for many people these days. By the way, the site is: http://www.thesteamteam.com
So, pretty impressive, gave me lots to think about. Might be time to have the carpets here cleaned as well!
I've been looking around this house and I realize I am bad when it comes to decorating. I want this house to look and 'feel' witchy.
The only rooms that have anything remotely magickal in them are the dinning room--which is where my altar is and the bathroom. The bathroom has a candle warmer that arms my favorite smelling candles. I'd love to burn incense in the bathroom, I've been to homes where people do that instead of using air freshener...lol, but those people had bathroom fans and our bathroom doesn't have a fan. I don't want to walk into a smoke filled bathroom so unless the window is open, burning incense in there is not an option.
I think part of my problem is I hate clutter and while statues and trinkets are not necessarily 'clutter' I still have to dust it...I dust every other day...OCD? Maybe, lol
How do you decorate the rooms in your home?
When I was married to Jeff, the house we lived in had a spare room which was my 'witchy room' -- I wish I had pictures of that room. We both designed the room, even had a cad drawing of exactly what w wanted it to look like.
I'd love to have a witchy room here but having a room just for my things is impossible. Do you have a room just for your altar and to do ritual?
The downstairs toilet didn't flush correctly and the boys are known to throw things in the toilet - however, this last time neither one of them could 'remember' what was flushed. After much work and poking and prodding and wrangling with the toilet, CJ and I found nothing. Had whatever it was gone down? Nope - the toilet still wouldn't flush properly; we had to call in a professional.
Long story short, the main drain was blocked. From the basement toilet, past the shower to the main drain. 'Stuff' was coming up in the downstairs shower...this explains the flood I had when I did laundry; we thought the washing machine was leaking but nope, it was because everything was backed up right where it should have been existing the house.
The plumbers had to clean that out and let me tell you, I have never in my life smelled something as bad as methane gas. This house smelled for hours after the ordeal began. Saved by vanilla candles!
So I suppose the boys didn't throw anything in the toilet, that time; it must have been backing up slowly and this would have eventually happened. In the main drain area we did find LOTS of paper towels....hmmmmmm
